Game of Thrones Season 2 Quotes

I'm a monster, as well as a dwarf. You should charge me double. Tyrion Would it be excessive of me to ask you to save my life twice in a week? Tyrion My father is dead. And the only parent I have left has no right to call anyone reckless. Robb Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his fu-king corpse! Sandor (The Hound) The gods have no mercy, that's why they're gods. Cersei Varys: I'm not entirely sure what you're suggesting.  Tyrion: I'm entirely sure, you're entirely sure, what I'm suggesting. Varys: I've always hated the bells. They ring for horror, a dead king, a city under siege.  Tyrion: A wedding.  Varys: Exactly. Sansa: What about the king? Hound: He can die just fine on his own. Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them! Tyrion Tears aren't a woman's only weapon. The best one's between your legs. Cersei I much like my head. I don't want to see it removed just yet. Tyrion....

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Jaime Lannister -A Man of Action

HBO:  Jaime ends the season on the road with Brienne. What is his appraisal of her? NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU : He's having fun, to be honest. He's trying to find her breaking point, but she's a cool, cool lady. I think it surprises him, how specific her loyalty is to Catelyn. Though it's absurd to him that she can see these victims of the Stark soldiers and say, "Nothing to do with me, I work for Lady Catelyn." But he does recognize that even though she's a woman, she's a soldier like he is. There's an order to things, and he understands that mind. He's also surprised when she springs into action and kills those men. She takes out these three guys in a heartbeat. Up until then, he was completely convinced that if he could get out of those handcuffs, that she would be gone, and he would be free. HBO:  What's fun about this for Jaime? NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU : It's just the relief of being out of prison. Also, he has that thing that...

Surprising Things About Season 2 - Pt 2

1. The timber used to build the log structure of Craster’s Keep came from the area in order to be more sustainable and to look like it was created from its own environment. 2. The Great Hall of Pyke in the Iron Islands was designed to feel damp and mildewy. The production placed shells all over the floor to give the audience the impression that the sea is moving in. 3. Production designer Gemma Jackson used some of the same icons from the big gates of Qarth on Xaro’s vault. She wanted the key to be ornate, but to also to look like it could open a door of that size. 4. The white raven featured in Season 2 was brought in from Austria.  5. Winterfell’s location moved to accommodate the big courtyard that was necessary for future shots. The rest of the structures and interiors remained the same. 6. Production designer Gemma Jackson got inspiration for the Harrenhal set from a trip she took to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Check out c...

Maisie Williams shares her thoughts on ‘The Pointy End’

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) shares her thoughts on ‘The Pointy End’ Watching Arya Stark, it's hard to believe that 'Game of Thrones' was Maisie Williams’ first acting job. And, as if landing a big role with the second audition of her career weren’t daunting enough, there was also the matter of getting to know her new movie-star dad. HBO:  Arya has this intense moment during her escape from the castle when she stabs the stable boy. What was that like for her? MAISIE WILLIAMS:  This is the part where everything starts to change for Arya. Her father's always said to her, "We've come to a dangerous place, so you've got to act like a proper girl now." And she just sort of thinks, "Yeah, whatever." But when Ser Meryn and his people come, and she thinks she's just lost Syrio, and this boy won't get out of her way ... She's just desperate to get away and find help. I think she's just trying to scare him and it goes a bit...

Surprising Things About Season 1 - Part 2

1. Arya has two main hairstyles in Season 1; pulled back in the same way her father wears it, and the second in messy braided plaits. During shooting of the haircutting scene in “Fire and Blood,” fake pieces were woven into the wig that could be cut with a real knife. New fake strands were woven in between takes. 2. The scenes in the Red Keep in “You Win or You Die” were filmed in San Anton's Palace in Malta, the official residence of the president. 3. The Starks dress in blues, grays and browns. “I wanted warm blues because there’s a warmth within their family relationship,” illuminated costume designer Michele Clapton. “Ned Stark has an elegance to him but he’s incredibly practical. I didn’t want him to look like he ever thinks about what he’s wearing.” 4. The arakh, which is the standard Dothraki weapon, was designed to give fighters maximum flexibility and a wider strike. The curved shape of the weapon also gave fight arranger Buster Reeves a wider vocabulary...

Set decorator Richard Roberts had a specific vision for Castle Black: "It had to look greasy, grungy, cold and as disgusting as possible.” From giving the extras rotten teeth to including pigs and hanging raw meat, Roberts accomplished his mission: “It smelled foul and looked foul but that's how it should be, so we're happy." 4. When creating Winterfell, and each of the worlds of the show, the ...
